WILTON — A Wilton man was arrested Sunday morning after he refused to obey police commands following a domestic dispute and was stunned into submission with a Taser, police stated in a release.

The man, Timothy Greenlaw, 40, was charged with refusing to submit to arrest and domestic criminal mischief.

Officer Brandi Alton responded to the domestic dispute complaint that included a report of a handgun inside the High Street residence, according to Sgt. Richard Billian Jr.

Two other law enforcement officers also responded to the emergency dispatch call, and a Franklin County sheriff’s deputy used a Taser stun gun on Greenlaw after he was being uncooperative and refused to obey several commands, Billian said Tuesday, declining to provide further details about the arrest.

Greenlaw was taken to Franklin County Detention Center and was released Sunday on a $3,000 unsecured bond. He is scheduled to appear in Farmington District Court Aug. 18. Greenlaw declined to comment when reached by phone Tuesday.

A Jay police officer assisted during the arrest.
