WINTHROP — Jose Bourget and Annette Snyder, executive directors and founders of the Mahatma Gandhi Foundation in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic, will give a talk about a library they started which also serves as a community center for children and families.

The talk, from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Winthrop United Methodist Church, is sponsored by the Winthrop Ministerial Association and Winthrop Area People for Peace.

The foundation, a non-profit organization, seeks to improve the quality of life of people in Las Terrenas through literacy, education, sports and health, according to a news release. For more information about the foundation, visit www.funda cionmahatmagandhi.com.
