SKOWHEGAN — The Skowhegan Free Public Library is continuing its $875,000 capital campaign to upgrade and expand the historic facility and maintain its architectural heritage with raffles featuring Longaberger Baskets.

The library’s renovation committee will sponsor its second September Calendar Raffle. A basket, a piece of pottery or wrought iron item from the Longaberger line will be given away each day of the month.

For $10, each customer receives five chances to win. Winning tickets are not added back into the pot.

These five chances with the customer’s name and phone number are deposited in a 30-chances-to-win jar in the library. Daily ticket sales will be deposited before the next drawing.

Winners’ names will be posted in local publications and displayed at public places in Skowhegan. Baskets won by out-of-town customers will be mailed.

The tickets are on sale at the library, the Chamber of Commerce, West Front Street Market and from Bonnie Chamberlain, 474-3146.

Beginning Sept. 1, the tickets will be available at the library.
