PORTLAND — The Portland Sea Dogs scored four runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Erie SeaWolves 9-5 in an Eastern League baseball game Sunday at Hadlock Field.

Down 5-3 in the seventh inning, Oscar Tejeda scored on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Dent and Mark Wagner hit a two-out, two-run double to give Portland a 6-5 lead. Will Middlebrooks added his Eastern League leading 76th RBI to make it 7-5.

Portland took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Ronald Bermudez reached on an error by third baseman Bryan Pounds and scored on Tejada’s double to right.

Erie’s Brandon Douglas tied it when he singled to drive in Charlie Haeger. Erie then took the lead in the sixth on an RBI double by Pounds and a sacrifice fly by Bryan Holaday.

Portland starting pitcher Charlie Haeger pitched six innings, allowing three runs on five hits. He struck out four and walked four.

The Sea Dogs tied the game in the bottom of the sixth, when Matt Spring hit a two-run double, but Erie took the lead back on a sac fly by Jamie Johnson and an RBI single by Audy Ciriaco.

Portland added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth when Alex Hassan hit a two-run single.
