I was blown away with the proposal to cut the retirement benefits for the men and women who fight to protect our liberty. How ungrateful can we get as a nation?
Senators and representatives are fully vested after five years to receive 80 percent of their highest three years salary, which is currently $174,000 and 158,000 respectively.
So we’re saying that we more highly value those subject to verbal abuse than those subject to death and dismemberment? I plan to let my senators and representative know I don’t support this proposal, as well as the Joint Chiefs of Staff and President Barack Obama.
Why are we not increasing the taxes on the superwealthy? Warren Buffett recommended doing it, and he’s an ubersmart businessman who has made billions. Stephen King made a similar request months ago. We’re making bad cuts, and leaving the big opportunities on the table.
