SKOWHEGAN — Raymond and Helen Bilodeau of Skowhegan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 18, 2011, at T & B’s Celebration Center in Skowhegan. The surprise party was given by their children. Mr. and Mrs. Bilodeau took an anniversary trip to Ireland in April.

Mr. Bilodeau and the former Helen Lessard were married July 1, 1961 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Skowhegan by Rev. Lucien Chabot.

Mrs. Bilodeau is a homemaker.

Mr. Bilodeau was employed by Norrwock Shoe Company in Skowhegan and G.H. Bass Shoe Company in South Portland.

The couple have four children, Timothy of Cumberland; Karen Hayden and her husband Greg of Skowhegan; Lisa Poulin and her husband Tom of Farmington; and Janet Metcalf and her husband Peter of Bangor; eight grandchildren, T.J. and Joshua Bilodeau of Cumberland, Alissa and Alec Hayden of Skowhegan, Colby Wood of Skowhegan, Kaitlyn Wood of Farmington, Cameron and Caleb Metcalf of Bangor; two step-grandchildren, Melissa and Tyler Poulin of Farmington.

Guests attended from Massachusetts and Portland, Cumberland, Lewiston, Poland, Bangor, Old Town, Dexter, Hampden, Levant, Farmington and Winslow, Maine.
