CLINTON — Mr. and Mrs. David L. Watson of Clinton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 9, 2011 at the Clinton Lions Club Fairgrounds. The party was given by their two children and spouses, David and Lorriann Watson, Laurie Jean and David Dale and many family members and friends.
David Watson and Lila Crosby were married July 1, 1961, at the First Baptist Church in Fairfield by the Rev. Allan Brough.
Mrs. Watson is a housewife. She is a member of the Methodist Church in Clinton, the Eastern Star in Clinton and the Clinton Evening Extension.
Mr. Watson was in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Navy reserves after 22 years. He retired from Central Maine Power Company and also worked for On-Target Co. He is a member of the Clinton Lions Club and the Waterville Elks.
Guests attended from Massachusetts and from Clinton, Manchester, Randolph and Sidney.
They have four grandchildren: Devon Watson, Lauren Watson, Jon Dale and Matthew Dale.
The couple have a cottage at Moosehead and love spending time there.
They plan to take a cruise to the Panama Canal and Mexico in October.
