In a rather snarky editorial on Sept. 21, the newspaper suggested that MPBN should not resist a second funding cut of $46,526 on top of the $500,000 already taken from its $1.5 million allotment.
The editorial points out that “the money not cut from its budget would have to come from somewhere else,” perhaps schools or social services.
Why wasn’t this point raised when the governor and Legislature were throwing money to the super-rich in the form of income and estate tax cuts on the off chance that they would create jobs?
MPBN is a small business. MPBN employs Maine workers. How many jobs will be lost because of these funding cuts?
