What is it that has caused this economic period in our lives? Everyone may have a different opinion, which is a good thing.

It may have started back in the 1970s, when President Jimmy Carter, or whichever president, decided to end the tariffs of foreign goods coming into the U.S.

It could be a very beneficial point in history if the newspapers would do some research on when the tariffs were removed, how it affected our jobs, which factories left the U.S., how many imports were taking place before the tariff removal and where we are today?

Wal-Mart imports 91 percent of its products from overseas, and Wal-Mart is the retailer in the U.S.

The deregulation of import tariffs probably made a lot of politicians a lot of money, but I think there is more to the story the media hasn’t told us.
