AUGUSTA — The author of a New York Times bestseller on health care will speak at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, in UMA’s Jewett Auditorium, as part of University of Maine at Augusta’s Forum on the Future.

T.R. Reid, author of “The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, and Fairer Health Care,” will speak on health care in America.

Reid has become a nationally renowned reporter through his books and articles, his documentary films, his reporting for the Washington Post, and his commentaries on NPR’s Morning Edition. After writing “Healing in America” in 2009, he has also become one of the nation’s most influential experts on health care reform.

Several organizations support the talk, including the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce and Augusta’s Lithgow Library.
