DIXFIELD — Luke Emery rushed for 156 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries to lead the Maran-acook Community High School football team past Dirigo 20-6 in a Western C Campbell Conference game Saturday afternoon.

Jesse Evans added 85 rushing yards and two touchdowns on nine carries for the Black Bears (6-1).

“They couldn’t stop us,” Maranacook coach Joe Emery said.

Luke Emery suffered a thigh bruise in the first half and was limited on offense in the second for Maranacook, which still rushed for more than 300 yards. Kyle Evans rushed for 82 yards as well for the Bears.

“It was a tough game,” Emery said. “The varsity played all four quarters. But our ability to run the football was the difference.”

Poland 27, Winthrop 8: The Knights scored four straight touchdowns on their way to a victory over the Ramblers in a Campbell Conference Class C game in Winthrop.

The Ramblers (3-4) took an 8-0 lead in the second quarter on a 12-yard run and two-point conversion by Danny Moody.

Poland answered with a 45-yard TD pass from Tony Whalen to Christian Hanscom and a two-point conversion by Tyler Sturtevant. Hanscom added a 6-yard run to give Poland a 14-8 lead at the half.

Whalen then scored on a 2-yard run and Sturtevant scored from a yard out in the third quarter for Poland (3-4).

Dexter 28, Kents Hill 27: Dexter (2-2) rallied from a 27-13 deficit with about three minutes left to shock the Huskies in an Evergreen League game at Alfond Stadium.

The Huskies (1-3) fumbled away the ball with about a minute left that led to the game-winning touchdown.

Bret Kidik threw for about 260 yards and two touchdowns to lead Kents Hill. O’Shea Bell had 12 catches for 140 yards.
