PITTSFIELD — A man robbed the Rite Aid pharmacy in town Wednesday night and got away with an undisclosed amount of prescription drugs, police said.

Police said the robbery happened about 7:40 p.m. when a man walked into the Somerset Avenue and handed the pharmacist a note demanding drugs. The robber did not display a weapon, but in his note he threatened to kill the pharmacist, police said.

After getting the drugs, he then ran off to a trailer park behind Rite Aid and got into a getaway car with two other people inside, police said.

The man was described as 5-foot 6-inches to 5-foot 9-inches tall, medium build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a baseball hat underneath the hood and large dark-colored sunglasses, police said. The getaway car was described as a dark-colored with four doors.

Pittsfield police asked that anyone with information about the robbery to call 487-3101.
