Augusta has a very important election on Nov. 8, with two contested City Council at-large seats. The city needs to fill Mayor William Stokes’ former council seat; the other to fill retiring Councilor Ed Coffin’s seat.

Planning Board Chairman Corey Vose is competing for Coffin’s seat.

The election of Vose will continue the balance we’ve enjoyed over the last six years of my service as the Ward 1 councilor. Balance is needed to grow the city’s commercial tax base by supporting policies and ordinances that foster responsible economic growth, while protecting the livability of our neighborhoods.

Former mayor and now Sen. Roger Katz spotted this young family man some years ago, when he appointed Vose to the city’s Planning Board.

I hope that you will join me on Nov. 8 in voting for Vose as an at-large city councilor.
