As Waterville’s Ward 2 Councilor, I’ve enjoyed working with Dana Sennett and think he’s a great guy. Karen Heck, however, has my vote for mayor of Waterville.

Heck has the spark and next-step leadership experience that Waterville needs to help articulate a new vision for our businesses and citizens — one that underscores our current and potential strengths and that can be turned into actionable steps toward economic and cultural growth.

Heck has a long record of social and economic activism and accomplishment in Waterville. The Colby College graduate also has created or helped develop sustainable programs of significance in Hardy Girls Healthy Women, which she co-founded; and KVCAP, of which she was deputy director. These experiences no doubt have contributed to her currency in thinking.

She already is a great spokeswoman for Waterville. As mayor, she would be an even better one.
