When Molly Folsom returns to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on Sunday for her third trip to the New England Punt, Pass and Kick championship, she will be joined by a few other representatives from Fairfield PAL’s football league.

Brothers Cole and Kyle Robinson will compete, as will J.D. Wadleigh. Each did well enough at the sectional competition in Holden to qualify as one of the top four in his or her age group in New England, earning the right to compete at Gillette Stadium before the Patriots host the New York Giants.

“I’m practicing a lot,” said Folsom, 11. In 2009, Folsom won the New England title in the 8-9 age group.

This is the second trip to the New England tournament for Cole Robinson, 14, who took third place in 2009.

“Keep your nerves down and you’ll do fine,” Cole said. “It’s a great experience to go down there.”
Cole will be joined by his younger brother Kyle, 13.

“(Cole) didn’t really give me any advice,” said Kyle, who was competing at the state level for the first time. “I’ll just try my hardest and see how I do.”

Both Kyle and Cole have helped out with Wadleigh’s youth team in recent weeks.

“It’s exciting that (J.D.) gets to go down to Gillette and compete with them,” J.D’s father, Tim Wadleigh, said.

J.D., 11, said he’s not nervous about stepping on the field at Gillette Stadium.

“No. I’m pumped,” he said.
