BRUNSWICK — The record streak is intact, and next up for the Bowdoin College field hockey team is a trip to the NCAA Division III national semifinals.

Cathleen Smith, Katie Riley and Elizabeth Clegg each scored goals as Bowdoin blanked Massachusetts Institute of Technology 3-0 in a third-round game Sunday.

The Polar Bears (19-0), who won their record 14th straight NCAA tournament game, will play Middlebury in the semifinals at Nichols College on Saturday in Dudley, Mass.

Clegg also had an assist for Bowdoin, which led 1-0 at the half before Riley scored a key insurance goal early in the second half.

Kayla Lessard had three saves to earn the shutout for Bowdoin, which out-shot MIT 15-4.

UMaine 62, Rhode Island 58: Sophomore guard Brittany Williams scored 19 points and Ashleigh Roberts added 15 to lead the Black Bears in a non-conference game in Kingston, R.I.

Roberts added eight rebounds and an assist for the Black Bears (1-1), who bounced back from a season-opening loss to Central Connecticut State.

Courtney Anderson contributed with 10 points and a team-high four assists for Maine as well.

Teneka Whittaker, Ashley Rivera and Ajanae Boone each scored 11 points to pace Rhode Island (0-2).

Women’s hockey

Maine 3, Niagara 3: Tori Pasquariello scored two goals and Brittany Dougherty added another to help the Black Bears earn a tie in Orono.

Maine (7-5-2) trailed 2-0 heading into the third period before rallying for three unaswered goals.

The Black Bears led 3-2 until Kalli Funk scored with just 14 seconds left in regulation for the Purple Eagles (6-6-3).

Kylie Smith had 21 saves for Maine while Sarah Moses had 33 for Niagara.

Also Sunday, Winslow native Courtney Carnes had an assist for the Buffalo State women’s hockey team, which lost 2-1 in overtime to Neumann.
