I read the article, “Cold unlikely to end Occupy Augusta movement,” Nov. 14, and I would like to make several corrections.

First, there are no spokespeople for Occupy Augusta. We are a group of autonomous individuals without leaders.

Second, Occupy Augusta is not working on any piece of legislation. The wording of the article gave the impression that the entire group is working toward preventing out-of-state waste companies from dumping waste in Maine.

Third, there has been no violence in the camp.

The incident the newspaper references concerns an individual who sits in the county jail for allegedly threatening someone at a store a mile away from the Occupation. The wording of the article made it seem like it was an in-camp incident and not an offsite accusation by one individual against another.
