AUGUSTA — Maine residents have another reason to be thankful this week – lower gas prices.

Gas prices in Maine have dropped more than 4 cents in the past week to an average of $3.45 per gallon.

Price-monitoring website MaineGasPrices.com reports today that the average price in Maine remains 9 cents above the national average and 42 cents more than at the same time a year ago.

In-state prices are more than a dime lower than they were a month ago.

A company analyst says the national average is at its lowest level since February.
