BANGOR — Members of Occupy Bangor have removed their tents from a city park and from outside a public library.

The encampment at Pierce Park was dismantled without incident Monday night after the city’s Parks and Recreation Department told the protesters that tents would not be allowed on the grounds.

Police Sgt. Paul Edwards tells the Bangor Daily News that it was a “peaceful transition.”

Earlier in the day, a group of Occupy Bangor members abided by an agreement to leave the grounds of the Bangor Public Library where they had been camping out for weeks.

Members of the group say they are discussing their options going forward.
