WINTHROP — Police tonight are investigating a robbery at the Rite Aid on Peck Farm Road.

The robbery occurred around 5:30 p.m., at the store at 16 Peck Farm Road, according to police reports.

One person, described as a white male wearing a tan hat, gray shirt and black shoes with white sides, walked into the pharmacy and demanded pills, according to police. The man told store employees he had a handgun.

The man was last seen on Stanley Road driving toward Readfield.

Police scoured the area but they were unable to locate the car, which may be a dark Subaru.

Police did not specify what if anything was taken during the robbery.
