HARTLAND — A 22-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police say they seized heroin from her car.
Melinda Riggs, of Hartland, faces one felony charge of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs after police executed a search warrant around 1:30 p.m. on Crosby Street.
Police stopped her as she was driving her red 2002 Ford car and found heroin, drug packaging material and drug-related articles, Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi, with the Somerset County sheriff’s office, said in a release.
“This has been an ongoing investigation, into the sale and use of said drugs in the Hartland area,” Gottardi said.
Riggs is being held at the Somerset County Jail, and additional charges may be forthcoming once the case is reviewed by the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office, according to Gottardi.
