VASSALBORO — The Planning Board unanimously approved a catering kitchen at 276 Dunham Road now that a parking plan is complete.

Lorilee and Michael Dumont plan to prepare food to be sent out from their business, as well as offer weekly cooking classes. The premises will serve as a part-time restaurant for parties and weekend reservation-only dinners.

The permit had been discussed at two previous meetings. In November, members said the application was incomplete and provisions for patron parking weren’t clear. Tuesday, the board agreed those issues were taken care of.

Also Tuesday, the board agreed Lee Ann Beaulieu, who wants to open a reiki massage studio in a room of her house at 38 South Stanley Hill Road, was starting a home occupation, not a business, and therefore needs no permit.

After reviewing criteria for a home occupation — a category that includes a doctor’s or dentist’s office — board members voted unanimously that Beaulieu’s project falls under that designation.

Leo Barnett, who wants to add four lots to his Old Meadow Road subdivision off Riverside Drive, has not presented an application, Code Enforcement Officer Daniel Feeney said, so the board could take no action. The board said in November his application was incomplete and gave him instructions at that time on how to complete it.

Board members used the rest of the meeting to decide how to approach amending the town’s subdivision ordinance.

They hope to present changes to voters at the June Town Meeting.
