AUGUSTA — Katie Poirier had 29 points and 15 rebounds as the University of Maine at Augusta beat the University of Maine at Presque Isle 66-57 on Thursday.

Jenn Lola added 22 points, including five 3-pointers for UMA (9-2).

Renee Moore had 12 points to lead UMPI (1-6).

James Madison 64, UMaine 47: Samantha Wheeler scored 18 points, including 15 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough for the Black Bears in Orono.

Jasmine Gill scored 15 points to lead James Madison (6-1).

Samantha Baranowski contributed with eight points and seven rebounds for Maine (3-6) as well.

Men’s basketball

UM-Augusta 67, UM-Presque Isle 52: David Prior had 24 points and seven rebounds as the Moose won in Augusta.

Leonel Familia added 22 points and 13 rebound for UMA (5-12).

Patrick Manifold had 14 points for UMPI (2-4).

Notre Dame 87, Maine 78: Jack Cooley scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half to help Notre Dame defeat Maine.

Eric Atkins led the Fighting Irish (6-4) with 26 points and six assists. Cooley had 14 rebounds.
Gerald McLemore led the Black Bears (3-3) with 27 points. Justin Edwards added 20 points and Alasdair Fraser 17.

In a back-and-forth game, Maine held a 64-63 lead with nine minutes remaining, but the Irish used a 14-6 run over the game’s final 4:56 to seal the win.
 

High school girls hockey

Winslow 7, St. Dominic 1: Sarah Fowler scored four goals and an assist to lead the Black Raiders to a win on Monday.

Alexis Lachance, Jordyn Dorval and Jenn Poulin also scored for the Black Raiders (1-3-0). Jess Cain had 18 saves to earn the victory. Jess Addy, Brennah O’Connell and Lachance also had assists for Winslow.

Katie Lacombe scored the lone goal for the Saints (1-2-0).
