SKOWHEGAN — Exercise equipment is the most recent addition to the town’s new River Trail, on Mount Pleasant Avenue and Joyce Street. It is part of DeBe Park and connects the Philbrick Trail to the bottom of the gorge.

The one-third mile paved trail is part of the Run of River Project and includes exercise equipment that Denise LeBlanc, director of Parks and Recreation, requested and received from the New Balance Foundation’s Move More program.

LeBlanc, Public Works Director Jeff Hewett and Economic Development Director Greg Dore worked on aspects of creating the trail. Money came from a River Front bond, a Land and Water Conservation grant, Maine Department of Transportation and foundations.
