FAIRFIELD — The L.C. Bates Museum recently announced its December programs.

* Flora and Fauna of the Season is set for 1 p.m. Saturday. Participants can learn the history behind some of the holiday traditions. Children can make a craft to take home.

* Animal Tracks in Winter will take place from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 28. There will be a winter trail walk. After the walk, children can create track flash cards to bring home for easy identification in their own backyard.

* Animal Survival in Winter will be featured from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 29. Participants can take an outdoor walk and an indoor tour of the ways animals survive the cold and snow. Dress warmly for this event. Winter boots or even snow shoes, if the snow is deep, are suggested.

The museum is closed if snow makes road conditions poor. Admission cost $3 for adults and $1 for children.
