AUGUSTA — Police are investigating a report of a robbery at a Western Avenue business Monday morning.
Augusta Police Sgt. Christopher Shaw said officers responded to the Super 8 Motel around 1:30 a.m., after a man reportedly entered a room and struck another man on the head with a handgun. The suspect fled on foot with an undetermined amount of money, Shaw said.
The victim suffered minor injuries. A woman in the room with him was not injured.
The suspect was described as a white man, wearing a hooded sweatshirt with red lettering.
The investigation is ongoing, but police do not believe the robbery was a random attack, Shaw said.
