SKOWHEGAN — A.J. Martineau scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Skowhegan girls basketball team past Bangor 47-36 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Saturday afternoon.

Andrea Quirion had seven rebounds and Amanda Johnson added 13 points to lead the Indians (3-0), who led just 22-16 at the half.

Cheyenne Malloy added eight points for Skowhegan.

Katie Brochu scored a team-high 12 points for Bangor (1-2).

Boys basketball

Erskine 56, Mt. Ararat 45: Senior guard Tom Grady scored 17 points, including 8-of-9 from the free-throw line, to lead Erskine to a win in Topsham.

Devin Duncan added 13 points for Erskine (2-1), which pulled away late by hitting 9 of 13 free throws during the fourth quarter.

Senior forward Brett Martin and senior guard D.J. Cole each scored 10 points for Mt. Ararat (0-3).
