SKOWHEGAN — Alfred and Mary Groder of Skowhegan celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 29, 2011, with renewal of vows and a party, at their home. The party was given by their children and spouses.
Mr. Groder and the former Mary Johnson were married Oct. 28, 1961 in Anson at the bride’s parents home.
Mrs. Groder was employed at Towne Motel in Skowhegan.
Mr. Groder was employed by the Skowhegan Fire Department.
The couple have three children, Carmen Wilkinson of Madison, Dave Groder of Oakland and Tim Groder of Anson; four grandchildren, Jason Trial, Jessica Trial, Ashley Groder and Brent Groder; one great-grandchild, Jerika Trial.
Guests attended from Milo, Windsor, Skowhegan, Madison, Norridgewock, Anson and Starks.
They are planning a trip out west in the spring.
