People approach a living nativity scene on Water Street in Hallowell enacted Friday by the First Baptist Church of Hallowell. Members of the church are portraying the birth of Christ in a manger today as well, according to Pastor Michael Longfellow, to send a message about the season. “We want to remember that Christmas is not all about presents,” he said.
