ORONO — The University of Maine hockey team is heading to Florida during the Christmas week break to play in the Florida College Classic hockey tournament for the 12th straight year.
The Black Bears are playing Clarkson on Thursday in the first round of the tournament in Estero, Fla. They’ll then take on either Cornell or the University of Massachusetts the following day.
Maine beat Clarkson and tied UMass earlier this season
Maine is 6-7-2 for the year, with a 5-5-1 record in Hockey East play.
