Dating this guy a total waste of time
My friend is in love with this guy who doesn’t treat her right half the time. She ended up breaking up with him because of it. But now she misses him, and she tried to get back together with him. He continuously said no to her. So she told him she had given up on the idea of them ever being together again. A few days later, he decided he wanted to give her another chance, but she has to prove herself worthy by April. Then he will open up the idea of a relationship again. She keeps asking herself if he’s worth it. She’s afraid to give up because she doesn’t want to be alone, but on the other hand, she thinks other people can make her happier. She’s just unsure. Should she keep trying, or give up? Basically, he wants her to change who she is to make him happy.

If you’re lucky, she won’t even show up
Dear Annie: My brother and “Melanie” had a baby together (unplanned). The boy is now 2 years old. Melanie moved in with my brother before the baby arrived and stayed until two months ago. She was never overly kind to my brother, frequently making insulting remarks to him and saying she could never love him or the baby. But he truly was in love with her. We bent over backward to make her part of our family, but she decided to walk out on him and sever all family ties.
J.P. DEVINE: A tree for all seasons
So here it is. We’re four days into December, and there’s no snow on the ground or smell of it in the air. The grass is green and brown, but it’s not dead. It’s just lying there cropped so short to the bone you couldn’t hide a quarter in it.
OUR OPINION: Charter schools implementation plan backwards
The Maine Legislature fought for years against the establishment of charter schools, a reform with a long track record in most other states.
