Family Violence Project seeks donations of new or gently used books for its Books Behind Bars program at inmate libraries at Kennebec County Correctional Facility and the Somerset County Jail.

In addition to receiving new reading material, inmates work in the jail libraries to organize and catalog books.

Books for Somerset County Jail may be dropped off at the jail; and books for Kennebec County Correctional Facility can be dropped at the Family Violence Project, 83 Western Ave., Augusta.
