WATERVILLE — There is no new business on the agenda for today’s City Council meeting, but councilors will convene at 7 p.m. at the Waterville High School Auditorium to revisit unfinished business.

At issue is the adoption of a tax increment financing policy, an update on existing policy that will govern any future TIF districts within the city.

What won’t be discussed today, contrary to previous reports, is Kennebec Valley Gas Co.’s proposal for a TIF district.

That discussion has been tabled until Jan. 17.

During a Dec. 6 meeting, the council approved the first reading of the proposal 4-2, with council members Fred Stubbert and Erik Thomas voting against it. At a Dec. 20 meeting, the council voted to table a second reading, to allow time for a review of Kennebec Valley Gas Co.’s financial records.

The meeting follows the inauguration of incoming Mayor Karen Heck, which begins at 6 p.m. at the Waterville High School Auditorium.
