FAIRFIELD — A Norridgewock man was arrested on a cocaine possession charge after the vehicle in which he was a passenger struck a utility pole Saturday morning on Route 139.

Richard Sirois, 45, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and summoned for possession of marijuana, said Maine State Police Lt. Donald Pomelow. The driver of the vehicle, Russell Anderson, 42, of Portsmouth, N.H., was summoned for operating after suspension. Pomelow said the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Trooper Peter Michaud responded to the one-vehicle crash at 10:03 a.m. and found Sirois was in possession of 2.9 grams of cocaine as well as a usable amount of marijuana, Pomelow said.

It did not appear that Sirois, Anderson or a third person in the vehicle were injured, Pomelow said.
