HOULTON — Sam Dexter scored four goals and Chase Cunningham added a goal and four assists as the Messal-onskee boys hockey team beat Houl-ton/ Hodgdon 7-1 in an Eastern Maine Class B game Saturday.

James Varney and Billy Blake also scored for Messalonskee (5-1-0). Nate DelGiudice and Ben Weeks combined to make 21 saves.

Brandon Ward scored an unassisetd goal for Houlton/Hodgdon (1-7-0).

Girls basketball

Monmouth 37, Carrabec 35: In North Anson, the Mustangs took a 19-11 lead at the half and never gave it up. Kristine Kahl led the winners with 20 points while Kylie Kemp added nine. The Cobras did cut the lead to a point in the fourth quarter on back-to-back 3-pointers from Jessica Vaillancourt and Skyla Murray. Monmouth is 4-5, Carrabec is 2-6.

Old Orchard Beach 61, Kents Hill 23: Christina Coleman scored 18 points in the second half as the Seagulls (3-4) finished on a 42-8 run against the Huskies (1-2) at Old Orchard Beach.

Abigail Dubois added 11 points and eight rebounds, and Anna Foss had 13 points for Old Orchard Beach.

Heather Larrabee had 12 points for Kents Hill.

Mt. Abram 38, St. Dom’s 19: Miranda Smith scored 19 points and Annie Dexter added eight to lead the Roadrunners.

Tori Beane also contributed with five points for Mt. Abram (4-4). Mary Caron scored a team-high 10 points to lead the Saints (2-6).
