MADISON — Derek Connors scored seven of his nine points in the third quarter as Madison pulled away for a 64-44 win over Lisbon in Mountain Valley Conference boys basketball action Monday.
Austin Kane led all scorers with 23 points and also had six assists for Madison (4-4). MJ Flanders chipped in with 11 points.
Lisbon (1-8) was led by Tucker Brannon with 15 points.
Winthrop 51, Mt. Abram 31: Tyler Foster scord 21 points to lead Winthrop to its first win of the season, in MVC action.
The Ramblers took control of the game in the second and third quarters when they outscored the Roadrunners 31-10. Foster added seven rebounds, three assists and three steals while teammate Taylor Morang scored nine points to go with five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Hunter Kilgore contributed 11 points for Winthrop (1-7) while Tyler Hupper scored seven points for Mt. Abram (2-5).
