WINTHROP — Tyler Foster scord 21 points to lead Winthrop to its first win of the season, a 51-31 decision Monday night against Mt. Abram in Mountain Valley Conference action.

The Ramblers took control of the game in the second and third quarters when they outscored the Roadrunners 31-10. Foster added seven rebounds, three assists and three steals while teammate Taylor Morang scored nine points to go with five rebounds, four assists and three steals. Hunter Kilgore contributed 11 points for Winthrop (1-7) while Tyler Hupper scored seven points for Mt. Abram (2-5).

Spruce Mountain 61, Hall-Dale 43: Jake Bessey scored 29 points and James Parker added eight to lead visiting Spruce Mountain in an MVC game.

Sam Shepherd scored 13 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Hall-Dale (6-3), which shot just 2 for 7 from the free throw line. Shepherd also had six blocks.

Zach Bonnevie added seven points for Spruce Mountain (8-1).

Kents Hill 47, Hebron 9: Emma Curnin scored 26 points and grabbed 22 rebounds to lead the Huskies. Heather Larrabee added 13 points for Kents Hill (2-2). Olivia Brown scored all nine points for Hebron (0-5).

Wiscaset 59, Monmouth 34: The host Wolverines jumped out to a 16-3 en route to the Mountain Valley Conference win. Devin Grover and Jason Weatherby scored 14 poitns apiece for the winners while Caleb Bryant scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Brandon Goff led Monmouth (2-5) with 13 points. Wiscasset is 3-5.
