GOULDSBORO — Officials say a body found on an eastern Maine island on Jan. 4 was that of a 57-year-old man who was reported missing last month.
The Medical Examiner’s Office said the body found on Stave Island in Gouldsboro was that of Wayne Hodgkins of Sullivan.
Police told the Bangor Daily News the cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
