I had hoped the old Kennebec Journal building would still be used instead of being torn down.
I was employed in the commercial part of KJ Printing from June 1976 to June 1986, when J.S. McCarthy Printers bought KJ Printing and moved to a new building in the Augusta Business Park.
I will always remember and appreciate the generosity of what KJ management and coworkers did for me and my family when I lost my home in a fire on Dec. 1, 1977, and then in 1982, when my new home was broken into. I had insurance both times, but I will always remember the help I received.
The building is gone, but I’ll always remember it and the people I worked with. Thank you KJ.
