MARIAVILLE – Divers have found the body of a Maine snowmobiler in an icy lake.

The body of 49-year-old Matthew Divello was found in Graham Lake near Eagle Island about 1:45 p.m. today in about 10 feet of water.

Maine Game Wardens used hovercraft, airboats and a plane to search for Divello, who left his home several miles away in Mariaville about 12:30 p.m. Friday for a ride and didn’t return. Search crews looked for him late Friday afternoon and suspended the search at midnight before resuming Saturday morning.

Authorities found a snowmobile helmet in the ice near Eagle Island about 9 a.m. Saturday and saw that something had broken through thin ice and the ice had frozen back. Divers found Divello’s body a short time later.
