PORTLAND — The head of central and southern Maine’s Boy Scouts of America organization has been placed on leave.

The Sun Journal of Lewiston says Anthony Rogers, executive for the Pine Tree Council, was placed on indefinite administrative leave Jan. 9.

Neither Matt Randall, the field director for the Pine Tree Council, nor national Boy Scouts of America officials would say why Rogers was put on leave.

Council Executive Board President Horace Horton issued a statement Friday declining to comment and saying it was a personnel matter.
