WATERVILLE — The Central Maine Creating Assets, Savings and Hope Coalition will launch its annual service of free tax preparation. The coalition is one of several providing free tax-preparation services throughout Maine.

This is a collaborative effort of United Way of Mid-Maine, Key Bank, the IRS, Casey Family Services and others. Sixteen local tax clinics will be offered, with the first one set for Wednesday. The free clinics will be offered at Key Bank on Main Street, at Educare Central Maine on Drummond Street and Franklin Somerset Federal Credit Union in Skowhegan.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling 873-7700 or 888-392-4636.
