DURHAM, N.H. — Gerald McLemore scored a game-high 25 points to lead the University of Maine men’s basketball team to an 80-69 win against the University of New Hampshire in America East play Wednesday.
Alasdair Fraser added 22 points and 10 rebounds for Maine, which improved to 8-10 overall and 2-5 in America East. Justin Edwards chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Black Bears.
Chandler Rhoads had 17 points, Patrick Konan 16 and Brian Benson 15 for New Hampshire (7-11, 2-5).
Women’s basketball
New Hampshire 66, Maine 50: The Wildcats scored 30 points on turnovers on their way to an America East win in Orono.
Brittany Williams scored 14 points, while Samantha Baranowski had 12 and Ashleigh Roberts 11 points and 10 rebounds for Maine (5-16, 2-6).
Denise Beliveau had 25 points for UNH (11-9, 4-4).
Colby 56, Regis 52: Rachael Mack had 16 points, six rebounds and five assists as the Mules won a non-conference game Tuesday in Waterville.
Mack was 7 for 10 from the floor and also had two blocked shots for Colby (13-3). Diana Manduca added 11 points, four assists and four steals, while Jil Vaughan had nine points, five rebounds and three blocked shots.
Claire Ramonas had 21 points for Regis (12-4).
Boys basketball
Maranacook 68, Morse 57: Kyle Boucher scored 16 points as the Black Bears beat the Shipbuilders on Tuesday night.
Taylor Wilbur added 15 points and Cameron Brochu 10 for Maranacook (5-8). Ted Cole and Matt Munster both finished with 16 points for Morse.
Girls basketball
Old Orchard Beach 53, Richmond 41: Kelsey Custeau had 18 points as the Class C Seagulls beat the Bobcats on Tuesday night. Christina Colman added 14 points for OOB (8-5).
Jamie Plummer had 14 points and Alyssa Pearson 12 for Richmond (11-1).
