RICHMOND — A dump truck driver was trapped inside his truck briefly Friday morning after knocking down electrical wires at a job site off Main Street.
Richmond Police officer Josh Staples said nobody was injured. He did not have the truck driver’s identification.
The accident happened around 10 a.m. behind the Dunkin’ Donuts, where they are putting in a new septic system.
Staples said the truck driver was emptying dirt when the truck’s body came up against utility wires, one of which snapped and fell across the truck and an excavator. A person driving the excavator jumped off before rescue’s arrival, Staples said.
“The person in the dump truck was stuck inside,” he said. The driver got out within a half hour. Police, firefighters and Central Maine Power crews responded, Staples said.
