WATERVILLE — Cody Thibodeau made 17 saves and Dakota Gendreau made a pair of stops to help Waterville defeat Gray-New Gloucester/Poland 5-0 in boys hockey action Saturday.

J.T. Whitten scored three goals for Waterville (3-12-0) while Tom Samson and Lauren Massey each had a goal. Chris Lee and Ben Roy each had two assists.

Jake Simard made 36 saves for GNG/Poland (2-10-1).

Boys basketball

Valley 42, Piscataquis 27: After being held scoreless in the first quarter, Valley rallied to earn the win at home.

Valley (13-4) held Piscataquis (5-12) to eight points in the second half. Carrington Miller had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Cavaliers, while Josh West added 10 points. Caleb Wade had six assists for the Cavs.

Tyler French led the Pirates with nine points.

Forest Hills 93, Acadia Christian 55: Evan Worster scored 17 points to lead the Tigers to the Class D win.

Forest Hills (14-3) led 57-21 at the half. Brandon Ouellette had 17 points for the Tigers while Tanner Daigle added 14.

Brandon Hagan led Acadia (10-6) with 22 points while Shayn Wescott scored 21.

Girls basketball

Forest Hills 60, Acadia Christian 29: Dana McNally scored 16 points to help the Tigers win the Class D game in Jackman.

Kori Coro scored 13 points for Forest Hills (12-5). Brianna Springer led Acadia (0-15) with 25 points.

Rangeley 34, Vinalhaven 27: Taylor Esty had nine points and 12 rebounds as the Lakers took the East-West Conference win in Vinalhaven.

Chantal Carrier had nine rebounds for Rangeley (15-1), while eighth grader Blayke Morin grabbed seven boards.

Blake Riedy and Alex Slevinsky each had seven points for Vinalhaven (10-8).
