One hundred years ago, our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and mom stayed home to raise the kids.
What in the heck happened? Can you spell “politicians”?
For the life of me, I cannot figure out how an elected legislator can sell out his or her state or country to some self-interest group, company or person.
We trusted them and they sold us out. I think it should be considered an act of treason, and any legislator who does it should be arrested and sent to prison.
And the latest, the head of the Maine Turnpike Authority robs from us, faces up to five years in prison and yet retains his state pension of more than $60,000 per year. A nice reward for bad behavior, don’t you think?
