BRISTOL — A Damariscotta man was killed Thursday when his truck went off the road in Bristol.
Michael Mclain, 21, died at the scene after the 2006 Ford F250 truck he was driving veered off Route 130, struck several trees, rolled over and he was ejected from the vehicle, according a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident was reported at 7:52 p.m. Thursday in an area commonly referred to as Bristol Mills. Mclain was driving northbound when he lost control on a corner.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Police said Mclain was not wearing a seat belt and speed was likely a factor in the accident.
In addition to Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies, Maine State Police, Bristol Fire and Rescue, and Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
