AUGUSTA — Police are looking for two men who robbed a CVS pharmacy of prescription drugs Monday evening.

Nobody was hurt during the robbery, which happened about 6:40 p.m. at the CVS at 2 Stone St., said Augusta Police Detective Sgt. Matthew Clark.

The two white men, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, got away with an undisclosed amount of prescription pills, Clark said.

“No weapons were displayed by either suspect,” Clark said.

A radio bulletin broadcast to area police this morning reported that the robbers handed a note to a store technician demanding Oxycontin. The men, who indicated they had a gun, got away with a “large amount” of medication, according to the bulletin.

Maine State Police were called to assist with a tracking dog, but the robbers could not be found, Clark said.

One of the robbers was wearing a red knit hat, a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark-colored jeans, Clark said. The second robber was dressed in a dark knit hat, dark hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and dark pants.

Augusta police asked anyone with information about the robbery to call Detective Brian Wastella at 623-2370 ext. 3420.
