LEWISTON — Gilbert L. Taylor of Hallowell was named to the fall 2011 semester dean’s list at Bates College.

Taylor, a 2010 graduate of Kents Hill School, is the son of Keith R. Taylor and Laurie C. Taylor. He is pursuing a major in classical and medieval studies with a minor in Latin. His undergraduate activities include the Outing Club.

Striker named to dean’s list

PORTLAND — Chelsea Striker, daughter of Shirley Striker of Gardiner, has been named to the fall 2011 semester dean’s list at the University of New England.

A 2009 graduate of Gardiner Area High School, Striker is a dental hygiene major. She is actively involved at the university in the Student American Dental Association.

Rolfe named dean’s list

BURLINGTON, Vt. — Paige Rolfe of Farmingdale, Maine, has been named to the fall 2011 semester dean’s list at Champlain College.

Rolfe is majoring in legal studies.

Robbins named to dean’s list

NORTHFIELD, Vt. — Devin Robbins of Monmouth, Maine, has been named to the fall 2011 semester dean’s list at Norwich University.

Belanger completes service trip to Haiti

STANDISH — Albenie Belanger of Augusta recently completed a weeklong service trip to Haiti sponsored by Saint Joseph’s College of Maine.

In cooperation with Partners in Development of Ipswich, Mass., a team of three faculty members and eight students began construction of a new house, volunteered in a health clinic, and worked on children’s programs. Belanger is a liberal studies student at the college.

Murphy named to dean’s list

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Meghan Murphy of Winthrop, Maine, has been named to the fall 2011 semester dean’s list at Belmont University.

Murphy is a 2011 graduate of St. Dominic Academy in Auburn, Maine.

Hickey named to dean’s list

PORTLAND — Ashley Hickey, daughter of Gary and Tammy Hickey of West Gardiner, has been named to the fall 2011 semester dean’s list at the University of New England.

A 2009 graduate of Gardiner Area High School, Hickey is a dental hygiene major. She is actively involved at the university in UNE field hockey, achieving an Eastern College Athletic Conference championship and the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship, UNE and Commonwealth Coast Conference all-academic team and Student American Dental Hygiene Association.

Putnam receives fall semester honors

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Allison Putnam, a member of the class of 2013 at Skidmore College, received honors for the fall semester. She is the daughter of Roger and Sally Putnam of South China, Maine.

Leach receives fall honors

RINDGE, N.H. — Ryan Leach of Farmingdale, Maine, has been named to the fall 2011 Northeast 10 Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll at Franklin Pierce University.

Leach is a baseball player at the university. He was also named to the dean’s list for the fall 2011 semester.
