MACHIAS — Jenn Lola scored 22 of her 27 points in the second quarter as the University of Maine at Augusta women’s basketball team beat the University of Maine at Machias 55-51 to clinch its first Yankee Small College Conference regular season title, on Wednesday.

Senior Ashley Peaslee added 18 points, while Katie Poirier grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds for the Moose (18-8). Peaslee also had six rebounds and eight steals for UMA.

Dana Houhgton scored 19 points for UMM (16-9), which beat UMA earlier this season.

UMA is the No. 1 seed for the conference tournament, which starts Feb. 25 at New Hampshire Technical Institute.

High school boys hockey

Skowhegan 6, Orono 3: Camden Depres had two goals and two assists to lead the Indians to the win at Sukee Arena in Winslow.

Anthony Paul and Trey Michonski each had a goal and two assists for Skowhegan (6-8-2) while Jake Johnson and Kameron Nelson scored a goal apiece. Kyle Carrier and Sam Edmondson combined to make 21 saves.

Zach Williams, Matt Cloutier and Dan Perry each scored for Orono (5-8-2). Nathan Sinclair stopped 21 shots.
